Music Minute: Mister G - Mundo Verde/Green World

I recently had a chance to review songs from Mister G's new album - Mundo Verde/Green Earth. The songs are fun for Spanish and English listeners, bringing a bilingual and cross-cultural message of care for the planet.

My kids are learning a little bit of Spanish, so they were able to pick up some of the Spanish words, and it helped to know what they were singing about because of the English part. The songs have a definite Latin influence, with different Latin rhythms and feel - and a little bit of Caribbean reggae as well. The songs are written to speak to people of all ages, especially young listeners. Even though it's a kids album, it's upbeat and energetic, and sure to be enjoyed by adults as well.

Upcoming performances:

Sept. 27 - Moms Clean Air Force Concert, Capitol Hill, Washington, DC

Oct. 1 - Kids Really Rock Festival, Boston, MA

Oct. 22 - Coolidge Corner Theatre, Brookline, MA

Oct. 29 - Academy of Music Theatre, Northampton, MA

Nov. 4 - The ArtsCenter, Carrboro, NC

Dec. 2 - The Center for Arts in Natick, Natick, MA
